INNOVATA was born in Boston, Massachusetts in the latter part of 1998. Their 'Sold Out' inaugural concert in early 1999 was received with a standing ovation and rave reviews. This concert was the catalyst encouraging INNOVATA to forge ahead by setting a new standard in brass performance and to emerge as one of the nation's most outstanding young brass groups. INNOVATA is made up of top talent from New England and around the country. The musicians come from a pool of hand selected performers that have appeared with such renown organizations as the Boston Pops, Boston Symphony, Boston Ballet, Portland Symphony, the Artie Shaw Band and with other leading organizations around the world. The wide range of experience that each person brings to the group compliments the versatile repertoire INNOVATA presents. INNOVATA has been heard throughout the Northeastern United States and Canada, in such major cities as Boston, New York, Montreal and Pittsburgh. Some performance highlights have been the Bar Harbor Music Festival, Bay Chamber Concerts, Music from Greensboro (VT), aboard the historic U.S.S. Constitution by invitation of the United States Navy, on various public radio stations and at the famous Liederkranz Club in New York City. INNOVATA places special emphasis on education. Wherever they travel, INNOVATA always tries to make themselves available to young audiences. Individually, as well as collectively, members of INNOVATA perform about 100 children's concerts per year. On the road or at home the most important thing to INNOVATA is PEOPLE. Sharing their music, the history behind it and the group's personal experience is how they connect.
